Figures Point to Employment Growth

Labour Force figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics earlier this month paint a positive picture for employment, with the unemployment rate remaining steady at six per cent and youth unemployment dropping to 13.3 per cent.

The employment participation rate rose to 64.8 per cent in June, showing that more people are either in jobs or actively seeking opportunities. Data also shows that than 200,000 new jobs were created in 2014, an increase on the year prior.
